Taking another step towards environmental protection, NTPC-Khargone Power Project has developed dense forest plantation using advanced Miyawaki technology at two places in Khargone district. Total twenty thousand saplings are planted @10000 at each site.
NTPC-Khargone Power Project's Executive Director Mr. Rajesh Kumar Kanojia has inaugurated Miyawaki dense forest plantation on January 23, 2023 at both locations in village Oon near Mahalaxmi temple and in village Gogawa near Police station. On this occasion, President of Ahilya Mahila Mandal, Mrs. Archana Kanojia, General Manager (O&M), Shri. Mandeep Singh Chhabra and other higher officials and senior members of Ahilya Mahila mandal were also present.
The Miyawaki technique is a Japanese advanced technique under which a self-sustaining forest can be created within three years. In this technique, several local species of trees are grown at close distance in different proportions. Adequate Jivaamrut full of appropriate nutrients and drip irrigation is used. The plants can be made many times denser with faster growth with this method.
